[edit] How to make Dextrin

You can make your own high quality dextrin from starch. What you need is:

  • An electric oven
  • Corned rice starch or another starch, purity is important
  • Kitchen blender
  • Water

  • Turn on your oven, setting the temperature to 160-170°; it's extremely important, the temperature MUST be in this range.
  • When the oven reaches the desired temperature, put in some starch, for example 100g, well distributed on an aluminium sheet.
  • Wait several hours until all the starch becomes golden in colour. Every now and then you should check on the dextrin and stir it to ensure that it is heated more evenly.
